Went to the Shell station downtown yesterday to put some gas in the truck and when I got there the station was closed. I couldn’t believe it - they were closed in the middle of the day. So I drove across the street to the Exxon and got a few gallons there. I don’t like Exxon gas but I needed to get home.
When I drove by the Shell station today they were open, so I stopped in and bought a cup of coffee and the morning newspaper and I asked the clerk what happened to them yesterday? Was it a gas shortage or what? He said that the corporate offices had got a computer virus and all the Shell computers were shut down yesterday, so they couldn’t pump any gas and they couldn’t ring up any sales on the cash registers without the computers working.
Imagine that! A huge company like Shell Gas and they were shut down by a computer virus.
I had been assuming that everyone with half a brain was using some kind of computer virus software now. There are lots of good anti-virus and Computer Virus Removal programs out there - there’s no excuse for not protecting your computer system.

I pray that as 2009 approaches that each and every reader would find themselves in one of two places: either looking back at a productive and growth filled year, or looking forward at how they will grow and be productive in the new year.
Happy New Year to you and yours and God Bless America!

On the news we are hearing such a horror story about a man dressed up as a Santa Claus and bursting into a house that was in full swing of a Christmas celebration. He killed several of the people in the house, including a young girl, who he shot in the face and then burned the house down.
This very troubled and violent man then proceeded to go home and put a bullet through his head. The story goes that a wad of cash and a ticket to Canada were found along with the dead body of this monster of a human being. Such a sad news story to hear on the day after Christmas.

Luvie and I have managed to avoid going to the mall this entire holiday season, that is very unusual at this time of year. This year we have done all most all of our shopping for gifts online and what we didn’t order online we had picked up here and there through out the year in anticipation of this gift giving occasion.
We have found so many good deals online and have taken advantage of all of the special promotions that were being advertised all over the Internet. Free Shipping was a major source of savings, and we did not pay full price for any of the items that we ordered. Job well done.

I just saw a short blurb on the news regarding some monkeying around with some of the artifacts from the CBS hit series Survivor. It appears that someone tried to bring into the U.S. a contaminated monkey skull, termite-infested statues and other African artifacts, and a Houston custom’s inspector confiscated the container and possibly saved a lot of people a lot of problems in so many ways.
I hope that this inspector will get a good pat on the back for his effort and his job done well. And I’m anxious to find out who the responsibility lies with for the attempt of bringing all of these possible health hazards into this country.
